While we were there we had lots of fun swimming and being lazy by the pool. Henry LOVES the water and was jumping in, going down the slide (with daddy) and trying to swim by the end of our trip. Valerie on the other hand was the complete opposite of her brother. She just enjoyed playing at the steps and floating around on the mats. I personally enjoyed watching the kids while I soaked up sun :o)
Some of the fun things we did while in Indy was celebrated the 4th of July by attending the local parade. Valerie and her uncles came away with TONS and TONS of candy. We then later that night had a bbq with family, shot off a few small fire works and then headed to the big fireworks. For years we have been going to the Enz's for fireworks. They are family friends of ours and Brother Enz is obsessed with fireworks. I remember when it used to be 10 or so families shooting off hours worth of fireworks and eating Chinese food and roasting marshmallows in a bon fire. Each year it has gotten bigger. This year there were at least 150 people, a DJ (someone in the ward has the equipment) and huge fireworks that lasted 1 hour! It was amazing. Henry and Val loved it. Henry spent the entire time on Auntie Karen's lap, holding her hands over his ears, and him saying WOW.
The last day we were in Indy we went to the Indianapolis Zoo. I love that zoo. Probably because I grew up going there all the time, but it is a nice big Zoo with an amazing aquarium and African plains exhibit. While we were there we got to pet sharks, feed giraffes, watch dolphins preform during the dolphin show and see lots of other animals.
Now we are back home and trying to stay cool in this heat! It has been between 105-115 degrees with heat index since the middle of June.
