We ♥ Chick-Fil-A

There are many, many reasons why we love Chick-Fil-A. They are clean, polite, Christan and family oriented. Our local Chick-Fil-A has family night every Monday. Each family night they have different activities for the kids to do, and kids eat free with the purchases of one combo meal. So to kick off the summer season we went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Last nights family activity was all about fire and fire safety. (A clever theme to kick off their new spicy chicken sandwich. Which by the way is very good, especially with the ranch dressing.) They had pictures to color that were fire safety themed and the best part of all, was they had our local fire fighters and a fire truck for the kids play with. As in the pictures your about to see Valerie wasn't very sure about being in the truck, until little brother came and saved the day. But honestly I think Daddy had more fun than they both did :)

We Have Grass!!!!!!!

It has been a long time coming, but we finally have grass in the backyard. We as a family now can play in our backyard. Next to come is a picket fence so I can trap my lovely children into the yard and to prevent them from being enticed by the pond that sits right behind my house :) But that wont come until next year is my guess.

So two weeks ago we, let me correct myself, Caleb (with lots of my help) started this journey I like to call grass. We started by mowing down all the gorgeous weeds and pulling out all the wonderful debris left by the crew that built our home. Caleb then tilled the ground which was a long, huge, painful, sore task. You got to love clay ground! Caleb and a friend then leveled the ground the in true Southern Red Neck style. It was hilarious to watch. Then the fallowing week we had the sod delivered and had a sod laying party were lots of Caleb's Navy buddies came and helped us lay it down. They started around 7:45 in the morning and were done by 9:45 am. It only took them 2 hours, whoo hooo! We then had a celebratory cook out. All I can say is who knew you could be so giddy about grass :o)

Strawberry Fields Forever

I love the South, especially Charleston. One of the many reasons why I love the South is all the fresh produce you can buy strait from the farmer themselves or you and your family can have fun picking it. A few weeks ago that is exactly what we did. I took Valerie and Henry strawberry picking. We, well Valerie and I had lots of fun picking and eating them. Once we came home we also found out why little Henry boy was so cranky! He wanted a strawberry. I let him have one and quickly found out that the boy LOVES strawberries. I have never seen a baby devour or be so passionate about a piece of food in my entire life. I have to give him props. The boy knows what he likes :o)

Happy Birthday Princess Valerie!

I know I say this all the time but I can’t believe how fast time passes by. Today 3 years ago my little girl made me a mom. Being a mom was and still is one of greatest desires/joys of my heart. I would be lying if I said every minute has been blissful. But those trying times make the precious memories even sweeter, and I wouldn’t change one moment.

For Valerie’s birthday we had a “Princess” party last Saturday. It was so much fun to plan, decorate, and host, and the kids had a blast. Every little girl we invited came dressed like a princess. I lined both sides of our walk way with silver painted dowels and strung pink streamers from dowel to dowel. The front porch was lined in pink streamers and pink balloons, and we had our bubble maker on blowing bubbles as the girls came to the door. Once they got inside we had princess music playing and they got to choose a princess picture to color and a princess necklace, while we waited for everyone to arrive. Once everyone arrived we decorated princess crowns, played pin the crown on the princess, a princess scavenger hunt, and had a beauty salon were we painted our nails, got to put on glitter lip gloss, and perfume. It was lots of fun and Valerie is still talking about it!!!!
